"Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries - 2019"
Representatives of the Belarusian Agricultural Library visited the 11th Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries International Conference (QQML)). The Conference brought together 170 library specialists, researchers, technical developers and managers from 62 countries of the 5 geographic regions of the world to discuss professional problems, identify new opportunities for libraries, and study the achievements in the library field that contribute to further professional development of library scientists and specialists in the field of information and expansion of research in the field of library and information science. QQML is an interdisciplinary conference covering all library and information science topics, promoting the theory and practice of quantitative and qualitative methods in libraries, archives and museums. The conference aims to evaluate and improve services and measure functional efficiency and effectiveness. It focuses on the systematic development of quality management in libraries, which requires a detailed structure, including quality management standards, measurement indicators, self-evaluation schedules and operational rules. The stay in Florence was inspiring and effective, encouraging the creation of new projects and research activities in the library. We were very impressed by the openness and friendliness of our European colleagues and their interest in the culture and professional problems of other countries. Undoubtedly, staying in Italy for several days helped us to better understand the lifestyle and peculiarities of one of the most beautiful EU countries. The staff members of the Belarusian Agricultural Library who took part in the conference express their great gratitude to the MOST project, which made it possible to participate in this international professional event of high level.
