Scientific Visit to the Autonomous University of Barcelona
With the support of the MOST project, the head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis, Differential Equations and Algebra of the educational institution “Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno”, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Alexander Grin made a scientific visit to the Autonomous University of Barcelona on June 30 – July 6, 2019.
The main purpose of the visit was to expand scientific cooperation between the teachers of the Department of Mathematical Analysis, Differential Equations and Algebra of Grodno State University and the staff members of the research group on dynamical systems at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. To achieve this goal, A. A. Grin made a scientific report at a seminar of this research group with a presentation of the scientific potential and the level of achievements of the Grodno scientific school on differential equations. The delegate learned about the organization of the educational process and scientific research at the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences of the university mentioned above. He mastered the approaches of the Spanish partners to the study of limit cycles for some classes of autonomous systems and their applications.
During the visit, A.A. Grin worked closely with professors H. Torregros and A. Gazulem (photo 1.2) and interacted with other members of the dynamic systems research group. In turn, colleagues from Spain told A. A. Green about their recent results and their scientific problems.
Then, specific approaches and steps of the Spanish and Belarusian partners were identified to implement joint research in solving the problem of estimating the number of limit cycles and their localization for several classes of autonomous second-order systems. The parties also agreed on a return visit of professors H. Torregros and A. Gazul to the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno in March-April 2020.
